Field Group Ukraine

Field Group Ukraine is a joint programme of YMCAs in Ukraine, Belorus, Norway, Sweden, England, USA, Canada and the Czech Republic which aims to support the development of YMCA Ukraine.

The YMCA in the Czech Republic was already active in the restoration of YMCA Ukraine thanks to the work of our formal General Secretary Lubomír Drápal, who was the first leader of the Field Group Ukraine in 1995. Every year the YMCA in the Czech Republic seeks to support the work of YMCA Ukraine especially through joint events and projects like these:

Joint events of Tensingers from the Czech Republic and Ukraine:
- 30. 11. - 2. 12. 2001 – Seminar in Kirovograd (UA) - 3 participants from Czech YMCA
- 25. - 28. 4. 2002 - Festival in Bohumín (CZ) - 2 participants from TenSing Ukraine
- 18. - 20.11. 2005 - Festival in Ostrava - Poruba (CZ)- 12 participants from TenSing Ukraine
- 20.8.- 1.9.2007 – Summer camp and festival in Karlovice (Czech Republic) - 3 participants from TenSing Ukraine

"Za ikonou sv. Vladimíra" (YMCA Jindřichův Hradec):
- 5.- 20. 7. 2002 – itinerant summer camp (Kirovograd,Žitomir, Kyjev, Lvov)

Volleyball tournament- December 2006:
- in cooperation with YMCA in Ústí nad Labem
- 6 teams (Ukraine, Poland, Czech Republic)

Marie Jakubiková – volunteer in YMCA Ukraine ( July 2006 - March 2007)
- EVS project of our volunteer Marie Jakubikova, in which she has worked for 10 months in Zdolbuniv YMCA – in youth club, in local schools, on summer camps.

Programme festival of YMCA Ukraine (1. - 6. 8. 2007)
- 5 members of YMCA in the Czech Republic visited the YMCA Ukraine festival in the small village of Verkhovyna in the Carpathian Mountains and have gained some enthusiasm for Ukrainian culture.
